Have a nice romantic meal and enjoy each others company. If you really want to purchase a gift, make it small and inexpensive. Again, spending a lot of money can scare someone away really easily.
Difference In Salary
If you are comfortable in your salary you need to make sure that you don’t go overboard with the spending. The last thing you want to do is make your date feel uncomfortable about receiving a gift that cost way more than he or she spent on you based on the fact that he or she doesn’t make nearly as much as you. Your best bet if you are in this situation is to play it slow with the gift giving and wait for his or her birthday to try out something more “expensive” to see what type of reaction you get. Since birthdays are all about giving and not receiving in return, he or she will feel no pressure about not getting you anything in return.
